Web booking system for Refugio Ilón with an administrative backoffice, optimized reservation flow and real-time availability management.
01. The challenge
Refugio Ilón needed an online booking system to replace the manual WhatsApp process. The platform had to let visitors check real-time availability, make reservations and receive automatic confirmation. On the admin side, it required a backoffice to manage rooms, pricing and availability without technical knowledge.
02. Creative process
A. Data modeling
I designed the full relational schema: rooms, accommodation types, seasonal pricing, bookings, guests and statuses. I modeled the availability logic to prevent overbooking and date conflicts.
B. Full-stack development
I built the platform with Laravel 12, Livewire 3 and Tailwind CSS 4: institutional pages, real-time availability lookup and a booking flow with online payment via Mercado Pago. Resend sends transactional confirmations to guests and the shelter.
C. Admin dashboard
I developed the Livewire panel: booking calendar, seasonal pricing management, inquiry panel and occupancy reports. The shelter team runs everything from one place without touching code.
03. Final outcome
Operational booking system with a complete flow: visitors check availability, pick dates, fill in their details and receive confirmation. The backoffice lets the shelter manage everything from one place. Architecture ready to integrate with the WhatsApp bot.
